This painting by Emma Eilers was available for sale at the New Hampshire Coop Website. It is signed E. Eilers. The back includes the inscription  “SC 1916”, which most likely is a reference to the date 1916 and location, Sea Cliff. The name “Tranquil Beach” is a name I’ve chosen as a placeholder. Born in Morrisania (a neighborhood of the Bronx, New York), Emma grew up and became an active regional painter in New York, between houses in the Bronx and Sea Cliff, New York. Oil on canvas, signed lower left, inscribed on verso stretcher S.C. 1916(?), possibly short for Sea Cliff, and housed in a giltwood frame. Dimensions: 20” h x 24” w, actual; 28” h x 32” w, framed.
